Police in Timmins have wrapped up their investigation into a threat that forced the evacuation of the local YMCA and two elementary schools last month.

Now, a local 17-year-old has been arrested and faces charges of mischief, uttering threats, and forwarding false information.

The threat came in an e-mail, and as a result, the YMCA building was evacuated for public safety reasons while police searched the premises.

Additional educational facilities connected to the organization, in Timmins and South Porcupine, were also evacuated.

No evidence of suspicious material was found.

The accused teen will be in court in mid-November to answer to the charges.
