A serious crash at a busy Kitchener intersection led to one person being airlifted to an out-of-region hospital.

The crash happened at Homer Watson Boulevard and Bleams Road at around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to a news release, a pickup truck was heading south on Homer Watson when it collided with a sedan that was trying to turn left onto Bleams.

The driver of the sedan was taken to a local hospital, while the passenger was airlifted from the scene.

The occupants of the pickup truck—a driver and three passengers—were uninjured.

Police closed the intersection for about four hours while they investigated. They also used their remotely piloted vehicle to document the scene.
