Two women were treated for smoke inhalation following an early morning fire in Vanier.

Ottawa Fire received a 911 call reporting smoke and flames in a two-storey triplex at 391 Dieppe St. around 7:25 a.m. Thursday.

In a statement, Ottawa Fire says firefighters engaged in an offensive attack and the fire was knocked down.

Four people have been displaced by the fire.

An investigator is on scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Ottawa Paramedics say the two women were transported to hospital in stable condition.
