A video showing a construction truck pushing a car across Highway 401 in north-end Toronto has left police scratching their heads.

Ontario Provincial Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them over the incident.

The video shows a yellow truck pushing a small sedan sideways across lanes of traffic, squeezing it against the guardrail, and driving off.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says no one has come forward yet with a complaint.

He also says it's not clear exactly when the video was taken.

The vehicle lost its bumper in the process.

"It's a bit of a strange situation here as I have no other details," Schmidt said. "I don't know if that was a little bit of street justice, or a little bit of road rage or what that was, but it's a little crazy."

Schmidt said police are asking for public help, "because someone knows about it."

At least one vehicle can be seen having to avoid the truck and car.
