Hailed by the Toronto Star as “music’s next big voice,” burgeoning 21-year-old Milton, Ontario singer-songwriter Billianne scored a major breakthrough in October 2021 when her cover of Tina Turner’s “The Best” went viral on TikTok, rocketing into millions of views and gaining her an adoring fanbase and nods from some of her idols including Taylor Swift, The Lumineers, Joe Jonas, Ryan Reynolds, P!nk, and Michael Bublé. The song is now over 50 Million streams on Spotify.
Billianne has since written, recorded, and released her debut EP, The Things We Talk About, which dropped in July 2023 and earned her over 10 million global streams. It was a perfect introduction to Billianne’s vision and voice as a songwriter: folksy but modern, earthy but acute, genuine and earnest. “No Wonder” from the EP was placed in the Bette Midler/Yara Shahidi/Odessa A’Zion movie Sitting In Bars With Cake. In support of the EP, she performed the record across Canada, touring with the likes of KT Tunstall, The Paper Kites, Julia Jacklin and Half Moon Run.
Gearing up for her debut full-length expected in 2025, Billianne released the LP’s lead single, “Daydream” in April 2024. She premiered the song live on NBC’s Today Show resulting in a captivating US TV debut, and appeared on CBC’s “Q” to discuss “Daydream” with Tom Power. Next comes CRUSH, her very obvious move into the pop space!!
Billianne on "Crush": "'Crush' was mostly written on a boat in northern Ontario, Canada. It sparked from a line I had in my phone 'I wanna bathe in you' paired with a synth line we had on loop. I was thinking about a crush I had a while ago and how consuming it feels. 'Crush' is a plea for more as much as it is a confession of feelings! I’m excited for the world to hear this side of me."
