Country singer/songwriter Morgan Griffiths, is Abbotsford BC’s newest rising star. Though hewas raised on the West Coast, Morgan’s roots run deep in Newfoundland, where his entirefamily hails from. Growing up in a musically gifted household—his father plays guitar andaccordion, his mother the fiddle, his brother sings and plays guitar, and his sister plays thedrums—it was clear from the start that music would play a central role in his journey.
At just 10 years old, Morgan picked up a guitar for the first time, igniting a passion that’s only grown stronger over the years. Morgan also quickly discovered a love for songwriting, crafting heartfelt songs that reflect the ups and downs of life. “I write about good times and hard times with the hope my listeners can step back from whatever they are facing at that moment and justget lost in the lyrics for a while.”
Before fully committing to his music, Morgan explored a variety of jobs—from installing kitchen cabinets with his father to selling semi-truck partsand powder-coating metal. But it wasn’t until he started singing and playing guitar that he realized his true calling. That moment was a turning point for Morgan, and there was no looking back.
Morgan’s sound is shaped by his love of country music, drawing inspiration from the likes of Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Thomas Rhett, and Bailey Zimmerman. Every gig, from family gatherings to bar performances and private events, feels like an accomplishment for Morgan,“ Looking out at the crowd and seeing them have a good time, singing along to my songs—there’s nothing like it,” he says. “It makes every performance special.”
In 2024, Morgan released his single “I Think I Still Love You,” and he is already gearing up to release more music soon. Morgan’s goal is simple: to create songs that people can relate to and enjoy.
Offstage, Morgan’s life is filled with love and joy. He recently proposed to his fiancée, Danya and the two welcomed their first child, Tucker Griffiths this past December. Safe to say Morgan Griffiths is just getting started, and is excited to dive headfirst into the country music scene.
