Cruz Beckham, the youngest son of soccer star David Beckham and ex-Spice Girls member Victoria Beckham, has released a holiday song.
“If Every Day Was Christmas” debuted Wednesday in the UK, where proceeds from the sale of the track are being donated to a charity for children in need.
"It's two of my favourite things -- singing and Christmas," Beckham told Capital FM.
In the song, the 11-year-old sings: "Fires started blazing bright, I came with my girl tonight / If everyday was Christmas, you were here with me / That would be all Christmas time for me."
Cruz's famous dad said he is proud of his son. "He's having fun, he's enjoying it," he said.
Beckham’s budding music career is in the hands of manager Scooter Braun, who made Canada’s Justin Bieber into a global superstar.
But not everyone has welcomed the young Beckham with an open mind.
In the Daily Mail, Piers Morgan criticized Cruz for having “absolutely zero proper musical training or experience.” He added that the singer sounds “fairly squeaky and quite annoying.”
He wrote: “He’s only been able to release such a high profile pop record - all in the name of ‘charity’, naturally - because his parents are David and Victoria Beckham.”
Bah humbug!
On Twitter, Braun responded by calling Morgan a bully and a “jack***.”
