Country music fans got a triple dose of reality on Wednesday when Thomas Rhett, Rascal Flatts and Lady Antebellum, not surprisingly, pulled the plug on their summer tours due to COVID-19.
“We have made the decision that we will be rescheduling our 2020 concert dates to a later point in 2021,” Rhett told fans on social media. “We make this decision with the health, safety, and well-being of our fans, touring crew and venue staff as our priority.”
Rhett said tickets will be honoured for the new dates but refunds will also be available.
The Center Point Road Tour was due to kick off later this month and run until the end of August. There were no Canadian dates.
“I miss seeing every single one of you and can’t wait until we are back in your neck of the woods next summer,” said Rhett.

Rascal Flatts said they scrapped plans for their Farewell: Life Is a Highway Tour, which was set to kick off next month and included a Sept. 3 stop at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage.
“After a lot of difficult conversations that we never thought we would be having, we have decided that in the interest of the safety of everyone involved we will not be moving forward with our Farewell Tour," read a message on social media.
The trio announced the tour back in January as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. It took its name from the 1990 hit “Life is a Highway” by Canada’s Tom Cochrane, which Rascal Flatts covered In 2006.

“This decision breaks our hearts but the health and well-being of those we love is our first priority."
