The Cleveland Indians will take on the Chicago Cubs tonight in game 1 of the World Series.
There are heavy hitters on both teams, and there are some heavy hitters in music rooting for both teams. Here's a look at which of your favourite artists will be cheering for either the Cubs or the Indians:
Eddie Vedder
The Pearl Jam singer is a huge fan of the Cubs -- he even penned an anthem for them called "All The Way." Last year, he performed that song with a handful of Cubs. He's such a part of the team that he was onsite for their celebrations after they won the game that sent them to the Series.
Tom Morello
The Rage Against the Machine guitarist grew up in the Chicago area and went to his first Cubs game at age 4. He's such a big fan of the team that in 2014, he penned a seven-point program for how the Cubs could win the World Series. That same year, Morello threw out a pitch for the team and Topps made a baseball card commemorating the moment.
Billy Corgan
A Chicago native, Corgan has been rooting for the Cubs all his life, though in recent years he's said he had to step back and watch from a healthy distance, no longer able to be as emotionally committed as he once was due to the team breaking his heart too much. The Smashing Pumpkins frontman was not only at Game 7 of the 2003 National League Championship Series when the Cubs lost and missed out on going to the World Series, he sang "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" there. Performing the song at Wrigley is something he's done since then too.
Pete Wentz
Growing up in Chicago, Pete Wentz was no stranger to Wrigley Field and that hasn't changed. Last year, he and his band, Fall Out Boy, performed at the stadium before the Cubs' season opener. Lately, he's been pretty vocal on Twitter with his love for the team as well.
Jack White
A couple years ago, the White Stripes singer was caught looking unhappy at a Cubs game. Perhaps it's because he was born and raised in Detroit and probably should be rooting for the Tigers, but he was dressed in Cubs regalia and so he'll likely be happy if the team wins it all.
Trent Reznor
This might come as a shock to some of the Nine Inch Nail singer's fans, but he is a fan of his hometown team, the Indians. So much so that when the rocker was 19, he drove from Ohio to Arizona just to watch the Indians' spring training.
Chrissie Hynde
Because she grew up in Ohio, Chrissie has said she didn't have a choice but to love baseball. In fact, there's only one autograph the Pretenders singer has ever gotten and it was Cleveland Indians third baseman Bubba Phillips. She's revealed she doesn't much follow sports now but it's likely she'll once again be rooting for the Indians.
Patrick Carney
The Black Keys drummer might be the Indians' good luck charm -- he threw out the first pitch at Opening Day at Cleveland's Progressive Field this year. While he admitted it's difficult to follow baseball while touring, the Akron-born rocker is fully committed to his hometown team, having kept up to date this whole season thanks to apps.
Marilyn Manson
While the shock rocker has never shown a preference of which baseball team he supports, he was born in Canton, Ohio, just an hour outside of Cleveland, and we like to imagine he'll be watching the game, rooting for the Indians.
