A$AP Rocky will find out Friday if he will spend another week in a Swedish prison.
The rap star has been in a detention centre since early July while prosecutors investigate an assault on two young men who followed and harassed A$AP Rocky and his entourage on the streets of Stockholm on June 30.
Prosecutor Daniel Suneson has asked a judge to extend A$AP Rocky’s time behind bars because he is considered a flight risk.
Pastor Darrell Scott of the Urban Revitalization Coalition told Page Six this week that the rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was being held "in a crap hole" and that senior White House aide (and Trump son-in-law) Jared Kushner intervened to make sure A$AP Rocky was moved to a better cell. (Swedish authorities deny there has been any communication with the White House.)
Before his arrest, the rapper shared video clips on Instagram showing the two young men following them around. “SO A FEW DRUG ADDICTS ARE NOT MY FANS , WE DONT KNOW THESE GUYS AND WE DIDNT WANT TROUBLE , THEY FOLLOWED US FOR 4 BLOCKS , AND THEY WERE SLAPPING GIRLS BUTTS WHO PASSED , GIVE ME A BREAK.”
His bodyguard, who was also arrested, is heard saying: “He hit me with his headphones. He cut me on my head. I could really beat the s**t out of him.”
A$AP Rocky was in Sweden to perform at a music festival.
