Adele has announced she will take some time off from performing live.
During the final performance of her ten-date residency in Munich, Germany on Saturday (August 31), the 16-time Grammy winner will hang up her microphone following the make up shows she will play in Las Vegas beginning next month.
“I’m not the most comfortable performer, I know that, but I am very f**king good at it," she said from the stage of the Munich Messe. "And I have really enjoyed performing for nearly three years now, which is the longest I’ve ever done and probably the longest I’ll ever do.”
Kicking off on October 25, Adele will perform the final ten concerts of her "Weekends with Adele" residency at the The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which were rescheduled from the original dates back in March. Her final show for the near future will happen on November 23.
“I have 10 shows left after this, back in my residency [in Las Vegas] — but after that, I will not see you for an incredibly long time,” she explained. “I will hold you dear in my heart for that whole length of my break, and I will fantasize about these shows and any shows that I’ve done over the last three years.”
“It has been amazing, I just need a rest," she concluded with tears in her eyes. "I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now. I will miss you terribly."
