Aerosmith has cancelled three shows in South America and one in North America so frontman Steven Tyler can take care of an unspecified medical issue.

A statement posted Tuesday on social media said Tyler, 69, “is seeking immediate care and has been advised by his doctors that he cannot travel or perform at this time.”

The rock band has pulled the plug on shows scheduled between Sept. 27 and Oct. 7 in Brazil, Chile, Argentina and Mexico.

“Steven is expected to make a full recovery,” the statement reads. “With proper rest and treatment he will be back on his feet soon rocking the world.”

The statement quoted Tyler, who returned to the U.S. after a concert in Brazil, apologizing for cancelling the shows.

“Please not to worry... I am not in a life threatening condition, but I need to deal with this right away, and get some rest and medical care immediately in order to sustain and maintain my future performances,” he said. “I promise I'll be back...unfortunately, health does not wait and it's something even I can't schedule around our shows.”

Loving Mary Band, which includes two Canadians and often backs Tyler at his solo shows, shared a message of support. “Our thoughts, prayers and love go out to Steven during his short time of rest… He is one tough rock-n-roller, so we know we'll all be out there jammin' together again soon! WE LOVE YOU.”
