Aerosmith fans will soon be able to walk this way... and over the band's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Steven Tyler and his bandmates will come together on Valentine’s Day for the unveiling of the 2,657th star on the tourist attraction.
“Finally! We have been waiting a long time to honour Aerosmith with their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame,” said Ana Martinez, a spokesperson for the Walk of Fame, said in a statement.
"Aerosmith is one of the greatest rock bands in the world and we expect many fans will be crazy excited to see them honoured.”
To be added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, honourees must agree to attend a ceremony and to cover the $40,000 U.S. cost. Unveilings are typically timed to promote a new project – in this case, Aerosmith’s new Las Vegas residency, which kicks off April 6.
Aerosmith was added to the Hollywood RockWalk in 1990 and indicuted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.
The Recording Academy recently announced that the group's "Walk This Way" will be added this year to its Hall of Fame, which honours singles and albums at least 25 years old that have "qualitative or historical significance."
