Canadian musician Alan Doyle announced Tuesday he’s hitting the road early next year.
The former Great Big Sea frontman will kick off the cross-country trek on Feb. 19 in Moose Jaw, SK. The 34-date tour ends April 12 in Saint John, NB.
On Twitter, Doyle referred to it as the “first two legs” of the tour, which will have Kelly Prescrott as opener. Pre-sale tickets are available beginning Oct. 23.
Each ticket comes with a physical copy of Doyle’s new EP Rough Side Out, which drops Feb. 14, and $1 will go to A Dollar A Day Foundation to support mental health and addiction programs in Canada.
Great Big Sea’s hits include “Ordinary Day,” “End of the World” and “Consequence Free.” Doyle has released three studio albums since 2012 and recently paired with country singer Dean Brody on “We Don’t Wanna Go Home."
“[The song] is about the greatest night of your life being interrupted by the tolling of the last call bell at the pub,” Doyle explained, in a release. “The speakers in the song cry the most desperate plea to the publican to keep the place open for at least one more round.”
