Ottawa-born Alanis Morissette is doing her part to get Americans to vote – and to support the Democratic ticket.
The 46-year-old singer tweeted Friday that she is voting for Biden-Harris “because we want leadership that is true and growthful and brave and respectful and integrity-filled.”
On Oct. 13, Morissette and the cast of the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill (a show based on her 1995 breakthrough album) will take part in a virtual fundraising event for the Biden-Harris campaign. Tickets for the event range from $25 to $10,000 U.S.
Morissette is also giving fans a chance to win an autographed harmonica and personalized video simply for checking their voter registration status.
Morissette became a U.S. citizen in 2005 but also retained her Canadian citizenship.
