Alanis Morissette’s former business manager has admitted to having had one hand in her pocket — and taking nearly $5 million USD.
Prosecutors in Los Angeles said Wednesday that Jonathan Todd Schwartz, 48, confessed to stealing from the Ottawa-born singer between May 2010 and January 2014. He listed the cash withdrawals as “personal expenses.”
Morissette sued Schwartz last year but later dropped the lawsuit.
Schwartz, who also admitted to taking $1.7 million from two other clients, is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 1. He faces up to 23 years in prison — although he is expected to get between four and six years because he agreed to plead guilty.
