Canadian singer and JUNO Award-winner Alessia Cara and Grammy-nominated (and veteran MMVA host) Joe Jonas have been announced as the co-hosts of the upcoming 2017 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards.
Cara will be hosting the show for the first time ever after performing at the awards in 2016. Jonas previously hosted in 2009. The “Cake by the Ocean” singer will also perform with his band DNCE during the broadcast, which is set to shut down the streets of Toronto.
"I grew up watching the MMVAs every year in my living room with my family,” said Cara. “I'm really excited to be a part of it and take the stage in a different way this year. Can't wait to mess up every line, because I absolutely will!"
“I’m looking forward to getting back on this stage, at one of my favourite events, to celebrate and to host the show with Alessia,” said Jonas.
ETALK reporter Liz Trinnear and Much and E! host Tyrone Edwards will also co-host the awards with red carpet coverage by ETALK reporter and E! host Chloe Wilde, and iHeartRadio’s Patrick Langlois.
The 2017 iHeartRadio MMVAs will take place Sunday, June 18 at 8 p.m. ET on Much, MTV, E!, and Much.com.
