Alice in Chains announced on Thursday the release of its sixth studio album, Rainier Fog, on Aug. 24.
Rainier Fog is the first Alice In Chains album in 20 years to have been at least partially recorded in the band's home town of Seattle. (It was also done in Los Angeles and Nashville.)
"...[We] certainly have something to say with this one," guitarist Jerry Cantrell told Guitar World in April about the new album. "It's a f**king strong record."
To accompany the announcement, Alice In Chains released a second track in advance of the album. You can listen to the new song, "So Far Under," below.
The first single was "The One You Know,” which Cantrell said was inspired by Davie Bowie's "Fame."
Rainier Fog is available for pre-order now.
Alice In Chains is on tour through September. The only Canadian stop is Aug. 22 in Vancouver.
