Another Ontario rock festival has been cancelled.
Organizers of Hair in the Fair, scheduled to run July 11 to 13 in Welland, announced late Thursday it was pulling the plug “due to financial hardship and extremely low ticket sales.”
The line-up included bands like L.A. Guns, Ratt, Quiet Riot, Helix, Anvil, Sven Gali and Warrant.
A message on the official website reads: “We deeply regret this announcement as we were looking forward to a great event for all. In times of economic hardship it is hard to regain stability to provide a properly executed event.”
Passes were priced between $119 and $219. Last week, festival organizers said 1,000 passes needed to be sold to save the event.
Several acts pulled out of the festival, including Black 'N Blue, Diemonds, Autograph, Vixen, Warrant, Sebastian Bach and Vince Neil.
The Trailer Park Boys tweeted on June 20: "Due to the promoters not fulfilling their contractual obligations, we have been forced to cancel our appearance."
Hair in the Fair was set for the same weekend as Roxodus, which was cancelled on Wednesday.
