Arcade Fire headlined the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans on Sunday night — but it was a performance the Montreal band gave the night before that was really special.
About 175 lucky folks were treated to an intimate, unannounced show inside an empty studio at Secondline Stages, where the band debuted some new music.
Arcade Fire “unleashed a storm of dynamic, danceable rock,” reported the Times-Picayune.
“The new music, driven by percussive-heavy beats with a flavour of disco, had a sharp focus on weighty topics.”
Mobile devices were confiscated at the door so those of us who weren’t invited can’t get a preview of the new songs that could be destined for the group’s next album.
Expected sometime early next year, the new record will be the first from Arcade Fire since 2013’s acclaimed Reflektor.
