Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Lana Del Rey are independent women in the video for “Don’t Call Me Angel,” a song from the upcoming Charlie’s Angels reboot.
“Boy, don’t call me angel / You ain’t got me right,” Grande sings. “Don’t call me angel / You can’t pay the price.”
Cyrus adds: “I make my own money / And I write my own checks / So say my name with a little respect.”
The video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis.
Parts of “Don’t Call Me Angel” were first heard in the trailer for Charlie’s Angels that debuted in June. The soundtrack is set for release on Nov. 1, two weeks ahead of the movie opening in cinemas.
Grande, Cyrus and Del Rey follow in the footsteps of Destiny’s Child, who recorded “Independent Women” for the first Charlie’s Angels flick in 2000.
The original TV series ran for five seasons from 1976 to 1981. A 2001 Charlie's Angels reboot of the series lasted only one season. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu starred in the big screen adaptation in 2000 and its 2003 sequel Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.
