Ariana Grande has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the 2025 Academy Awards.
The singer/actress was recognized for her role as Galinda “Glinda” Upland in the blockbuster movie Wicked, which marks her first ever Oscar nomination.
Grande will be up against Monica Barbaro (A Complete Unknown), Felicity Jones (The Brutalist), Isabella Rossellini (Conclave), and Zoe Saldaña (Emilia Pérez) in the Supporting Actress category.
Her co-star, Cynthia Ervo, who plays Elphaba Thropp, was also nominated for Best Actress. In total Wicked received ten nominations, including Best Picture. Surprisingly, the film did not pick up a nod for Best Original Song, however, it did for Best Original Score.
The Selena Gomez-starring Emilia Pérez led all films with 13 nominations, setting a record for a non-English-language film. Unfortunately for Gomez, she was shut out of the nominations after being recognized at this month's Golden Globes.
