There is apparently a good reason why Ariana Grande will not be performing at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards.
According to a report by Variety, the pop superstar was unable to reach an agreement with the show’s producers about which song she would perform.
Grande was reportedly “insulted” when producers initially said she could not do her hit “7 Rings.” They then agreed she could perform part of the song if she did another one of their choosing.
Grande, who is nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album (for Sweetener) and Best Pop Vocal Performance (“God Is a Woman”), is refusing to attend the Grammys, according to the report.
Grammy reps did not respond to Variety’s request for comment.
Grammy performers include Lady Gaga and Mark Ronson, Dua Lipa and St Vincent, Chloe x Halle, Travis Scott, Andra Day, Camila Cabello, Cardi B, Post Malone and Red Hot Chili Peppers, J Balvin, Miley Cyrus, Ricky Martin and Canada’s Shawn Mendes.
