The director of Ariana Grande’s “God Is A Woman” video is being accused of drawing inspiration from a Jean Paul Gaultier ad.
In the video, an oversized Grande is seen in a nude bodysuit while male models suckle on fake teats.
Instagram account Diet Prada pointed out this week that the image is almost identical to one in an ad for the French fashion designer starring model Ève Salvail.
“Is God a woman? More importantly, could she be a Jean Paul Gaultier woman @arianagrande is definitely making a strong case for it…or at least @dave_meyers is a fan of this SS 1993 ad campaign lol.”
Some Diet Prada followers have commented that Meyer’s video for “God Is A Woman” – just like the Gaultier campaign – is clearly paying homage to the mythical founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus.
