Canadian rock band Arkells announced on Friday that they are heading out on tour early next year to support their just-released fifth studio album, Rally Cry.
The band will kick off the 11-city winter trek on Feb. 2 in Vancouver and wrap things up in Montreal on Feb. 19.
Tickets for the Rally Cry Tour, with special guests Lord Huron, go on sale Oct. 26.
Arkells describe the tour as the band’s most ambitious ever. “We wrote these new songs to play them live for you,” said frontman Max Kerman, in a release.
“Our attitude was, let’s make this record as wild and weird and adventurous as we want it to be. We felt that doing things that aren’t traditional rock ‘n’ roll with heavy guitars is OK as long as it still feels like us.”
Kerman added: “At the same time, let’s remember that at our core, the spirit of what we do is very much based on five guys playing together, who’ve built up an amazing chemistry as a band.”
