Arkells dominated the rock categories at this past weekend’s Juno Awards in London, Ont.
The Ontario band won Rock Album of the Year for Rally Cry at Saturday night’s gala dinner and accepted Group of the Year on Sunday’s live broadcast.
At Saturday’s event, Arkells gave a quick “thanks” for the award and then gave their allotted time at the mic to Jeremy Dutcher, who had been cut off while accepting the Indigenous Album of the Year award.

“There's been so much wisdom shared on the stage tonight, but our friend Jeremy didn't get a chance to finish," Arkells frontman Max Kerman said. "So he's going to finish tonight as he should.”
Dutcher used his time to send a message about reconciliation to prime minister Justin Trudeau.
“A nation-to-nation relationship does not look like pipelines. A nation-to-nation relationship does not look like sending militarized police force into unceded territory,” he said, "and a nation-to-nation relationship does not look like, in 2019, our communities still on boiled-water advisory.”
