Aspiring singer Kelsy Karter is taking it on the chin for apparently getting a tattoo of Harry Styles’ face on her cheek.
Comments on an Instagram post revealing the new ink include: “How incredibly stupid,” “This is the dumbest s**t I’ve ever seen,” “Bad mistake” and “most stupid tattoo in history all tattoos.”
The New Zealand-born singer (aka Kelsey Eckstein) told i-D last summer she feels like she is a female version of Styles.
“I really want to work with him,” said Karter. “Let’s work, Harry. Where you at?”
Karter evidently wants to do more than work with Styles. On Monday, she promoted the video for a song called "Harry" in which she sings "Harry, I’m going to make you love me" and "You should be so lucky to put your velvet arms around me."
In her Instagram post – which she captioned “mama, look what i made me do” – Karter included a photo with famed Los Angeles tattoo artist Romeo Lacoste of The California Dream Tattoo.
In the comments section, some people are calling it out as fake – or expressing hopes that it is. (iHeartRadio.ca has reached out to Lacoste to find out if the tattoo is legit.)
Others have commented that the face barely resembles Styles. “Anyone else think the tat looks more like that kid from Stranger Things,” one wrote. Another suggested “that’s Goldberg from Mighty Ducks.”
Opined one person: “Doubt there is a better picture for psychological intervention ever posted.”
Karter, who is either 24 or 27 depending on the source, has released several songs and claims to have written one that Zayn recorded ("it has yet to come out," she told i-D). She is also credited with contributing music to four episodes of the Toronto-shot TV series 12 Monkeys in 2015 and 2016.
