Avril Lavigne is coming home this fall.
The Ontario-born singer has included an Oct. 6 show at Toronto’s Meridian Hall as part of her Head Above Water tour.
Details of Lavigne's new tour came Monday, exactly five years to the day since she last performed in Ontario. She hasn't performed in Toronto – or done a cross-Canada tour – since 2011.
Tickets go on sale June 28 and $1 from each will go to Lavigne’s eponymous foundation, which supports people living with Lyme disease, serious illness or disabilities.
The North American leg of the tour kicks off Sept. 14 in Seattle and runs until Oct. 11 in Philadelphia.
Head Above Water, Lavigne’s sixth studio album and first since 2013, was released on Feb. 15. It failed to crack the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart.
“I’ve really opened up on this record more than I ever have before,” she said, in a release at the time. “Each song tells a story that will hopefully inspire others to believe in themselves and stand up for what they know is right and what they truly deserve!”
