Avril Lavigne’s eponymous foundation has joined Instagram.

“SO EXCITED to share that @AvrilFoundation now has its own ‘OFFICIAL’ Insta!!,” the Canadian singer tweeted this week. Follow it NOW … for info on #LymeDisease, updates on our partner programs & grant recipients, contests and more!”

The account has already attracted more than 5,400 followers. (Lavigne's personal Instagram has 5.8 million followers.)

One of the first posts shared on the foundation’s Instagram account was about Toronto band The Beaches, who recently staged a benefit show – at which they performed Lavigne covers –  that raised $10,000 for Lavigne’s foundation.

“SO GRATEFUL to @thebeachesband for donating proceeds from their ‘Avril Night’ concert last weekend to help us help families affected by #LymeDisease," the caption read. “As a result of the kindness of #TheBeaches and their fans, we’re able to bring hope to families in need.”

Lavigne, 33, established her foundation in 2010. She recently wrapped up work on her sixth studio album, but no release date has been announced. It’s her first since 2013.
