Barack Obama on Monday shared his 2020 Summer Playlist – and once again included some Canadian talent.
“Over the past few months, I’ve spent a lot of time listening to music with my family,” Obama tweeted. “I wanted to share some of my favourites from the summer … Hope you enjoy it.”
The former U.S. president is evidently a fan of Toronto’s PARTYNEXTDOOR, whose track “PGT” made the cut. PARTYNEXTDOOR is also featured on Obama’s picks “My Affection” by Summer Walker and “Twist & Turn” by Popcaan – which also features Drake.
Drake is also featured on Rihanna’s “Work,” which is one of Obama’s summer faves. "Neon Skyline" by Regina's Andy Shauf is also on the list.
The rest of the presidential playlist is a diverse mix of genres and artists both old and new.
There are two Billies – Eilish (“My Future”) and Holiday (“I’ll Be Seeing You”) – as well as some country (“Gaslighter” by The Chicks), reggae (“Could You Be Loved” by Bob Marley & The Wailers) and Latin vibes (“Un Dia” by J Balvin ft. Dua Lipa, Bad Bunny & Tainy).
Last year's Summer Playlist from Obama included tracks by Canadian artists Drake, Daniel Caesar and Shawn Mendes.
