The BBC said Sunday is was sorry (not sorry?) for apologizing during a performance by Demi Lovato at The Biggest Weekend.
During a live broadcast of the festival in Swansea, Wales, a message appeared on screen that read “We apologise if you’ve been offended by anything in this stream.”
The problem was the timing of the message. Lovato had just got up close and personal with one of her female dancers and had told the crowd to “love who you wanna love” while performing her hit “Cool for the Summer.”

Many viewers took the network’s apology as homophobia.
On Twitter, reactions included “don’t apologise for people choosing to be offended” and “don’t apologise for people being offended by LGBT stuff because that would be ridiculous!”
But, in a statement, the BBC claimed the apology was due to foul language. “All artists are reminded not to use strong language at any point whilst on stage as their set will be broadcast live on the BBC and an apology slide was issued during the performance that was live streamed online.”
