The Beach Boys are the subject of an upcoming documentary produced by Disney.
Titled The Beach Boys, the film was directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny and is described as "a celebration of the band that revolutionized pop music, and the iconic, harmonious sound they created that personified the California dream, captivating fans for generations to come."
Beginning from the band's "humble family beginnings" it will include never-before-seen footage and all-new interviews with members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston, as well as fans like Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was.
Footage of late members Carl and Dennis Wilson will also be included in their own words.
A soundtrack for the doc will be available to stream alongside the film’s premiere on May 24.
Leading up to the release of the doc, the legendary California band's official book, The Beach Boys by the Beach Boys, will be released next week (April 2) through Genesis Publications.
The Beach Boys will begin streaming on Disney+ on May 24.
