Beyoncé is calling for the police officers involved in the death of Breonna Taylor to face justice.
“Three months have passed – and zero arrests have been made, and no officers have been fired,” the singer wrote in an open letter to Kentucky attorney general Daniel Cameron on Sunday.
Taylor was shot eight times on March 13 by Louisville police officers who entered her apartment without a warrant during a narcotics investigation.
“All of the officers involved in the shooting remain employed,” noted Beyoncé, who called for criminal charges against the officers. “Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Officers Myles Cosgrove and Brett Hankison must be held accountable for their actions.”
The superstar told Cameron: “This is your chance to end that pattern. Take swift and decisive action in charging the officers. The next months cannot look like the last three.”
