We might hear Beyoncé's voice on the big screen in the coming future if the director behind the upcoming Lion King remake has it his way.
On Thursday (Mar. 30), Variety exclusively reported that director Jon Favreau's top choice to voice Nala in the forthcoming film is Queen Bey. Insiders told the outlet that the pop titan has yet to make a decision, but they're willing to accommodate her on all ends to ensure the booking. Considering that Bey is far into her pregnancy with twins, we'd like to think that she might take them up on that offer. This would mark Beyonce's first movie role since 2013's Epic, which featured a vocal role from the star.
If the 35-year-old titan does sign onto the film, she'll join a star-studded cast, including Donald Glover, who will play Simba, and James Earl Jones, who will reprise his role as Simba's father, Mufasa. Jeff Nathanson will serve as the writer of the film, which is not a live-action remake but will feature a similar approach as the upcoming remake of The Jungle Book.
Released in 1994, the Lion King is one of the highest-grossing animated films of all time, scoring a whopping $968.5 million worldwide. Fingers crossed that the upcoming version lives up to the original classic!
