The Carters are a family of five!
Beyoncé and Jay Z welcomed their twins into the world last week, according to multiple sources who have confirmed the news to Us Weekly and People.
One source told People: "Bey and Jay are thrilled and have started sharing the news with their family and closest friends.”
The twins, who were born at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, are siblings for Blue Ivy, 5.
In a video tribute to Jay Z that was shown last week at an event in New York, Barack Obama seemed to reveal that Beyoncé and Jay Z had girls.
“Jay and I are also fools for our daughters,” he said, “although he’s going to have me beat once those two twins show up.”
Beyoncé, 35, and Jay Z, 47, first shared the news of their twin pregnancy when Bey posted a gorgeous photo from a maternity shoot, rocking only some intimates and a yellow veil as she gently held her baby bump.
She wrote: "We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes.”
Since then, Bey has publicly documented her pregnancy on social media, posting pictures of her maternity style (which was amazing as expected), not only during family time, but at red carpet events.
She even performed while pregnant, with her baby bump on full display, during this year's Grammy Awards.
No official word yet from the Carters themselves.
Congratulations to the Carters!
