Billie Eilish has announced her third album, Hit Me Hard And Soft, will be released on May 17.
The news comes after fans spotted billboards around the world teasing what appeared to be a new album from the Grammy and Oscar-winning artist.
Eilish made the announcement on her socials, writing, “HIT ME HARD AND SOFT” MY THIRD ALBUMMMMMMMMMMMMM COMES OUT MAY 17THHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHHHHHH🥹🥹🥹 so crazy to be writing this right now i’m nervyyyyy & exciteddd 🫣"
Much like Taylor Swift, Eilish noted that there will not be any singles dropping before the album.
"not doing singles i wanna give it to you all at once :PPP," she writes. "finneas and i truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it. love you love you love you. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃"
In a recent interview with Billboard, Eilish spoke up about the wasteful practice of releasing different vinyl versions of albums. Currently there are at least five editions of Hit Me Hard And Soft available to preorder at Eilish's online store.
Remaining true to her cause, the site lists that "All vinyl is made using recyclable or recycled compounds and all packaging is made from recycled paper/boards. The ink used is raw plant-based and water-based dispersion varnish. The sleeves are 100% recycled and re-usable."
