Billie Eilish is set to embark on her HIT ME HARD AND SOFT: THE TOUR beginning in September, but she has told fans that her shows will not reach the three-hour mark.
While chatting with fans on Stationhead, Eilish responded to a question about the length of her shows and whether she will be playing her new album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, in its entirety.
"I'm not doing a three-hour show, that's literally psychotic," Eilish said. "Nobody wants that. You guys don't want that. I don't want that. You know what I'm saying? I don't even want that as a fan. Even my favourite artists in the world, I'm not trying to hear them for three hours. You know what I mean? That's far too long."
Of course, with the internet being the internet, some people felt this was some shade thrown at Taylor Swift and Beyoncé, who generally perform upwards of three hours on their respective Eras and Renaissance tours.
Eilish's comment has now gone viral thanks to a Taylor Swift fan account called @swifferupdates, which shared the clip and framed it as a critique of her peers.
And while fans of all three artists have shared their takes, some have been quick to point out that in an interview with the Los Angeles Times last year, Eilish praised both Swift and Beyoncé for their ability to put on such big shows.
“I find it really hard to play stadiums,” Eilish said. “Beyoncé and Taylor are untouchable superstars; the fact that they can put on a show that long, and it’s filled with so many incredible moments, is really amazing.”
