Canadian rock band Billy Talent announced Monday they have founded the Billy Talent Charity Trust.
“From our start 25 years ago, it’s been important to our band to give back” said drummer Aaron Solowoniuk, the trust’s administrator, in a release. “Launching BTCT will give us the opportunity to give to a variety of organizations with values that we believe in.
“I've been living with MS for over 20 years now and I have seen what a great impact the MS Society of Canada has. I am happy to announce that they will be receiving the funds from our first project as BTCT.”
To launch the BTCT, the band is offering fans a collectors plaque featuring a gold record, artwork from Billy Talent releases, and a limited edition band photo. The plaques are hand-signed in gold by the band members.
The plaques will be available for two weeks at a cost of $299 CAD, with all proceeds going to the MC Society of Canada via BTCT.
Billy Talent will be celebrating their 25th anniversary with a special announcement later this week.
