Rap mogul Birdman could lose his mansion in Miami Beach.
The co-founder of Cash Money Records – the label behind Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne – has been sued by Chemtov Mortgage Group, which gave him a $12 million (all figures U.S.) loan in 2015 with the house as collateral.
The company has filed a lien against the home, alleging that Birdman hasn’t made payments since June. He allegedly owes more than $800,000 in interest, late fees and charges.
According to the Miami Herald, Birdman bought the property in 2012 for $14.5 million and put it up for sale this past summer for $20 million. The asking price was recently reduced to $16.9 million.
Birdman, whose real name is Bryan Williams, has reportedly not yet responded to the lawsuit.
