Why did Blake Shelton take a tumble on stage this past Saturday? Blame it on the alcohol.
On Sunday, the country singer tweeted an appeal for fan footage of the mishap during his set at the Pendleton Whisky Music Festival in Oregon.
“Ok Pendleton I know somebody is bound to have video of me falling on stage last night,” Shelton tweeted. “Please!! I have to see it! Post that s**t! And yes I had been drinking. A lot…”
He also blamed Pitbull, who performed earlier. “It was my attempt at competing with your show... I am a dancing son of a bitch when I don’t take a 10 second giant s**t fall…"
It didn’t take long for video of the fall to surface – albeit from a distance. It shows Shelton losing his balance and then getting right back up and grabbing a guitar.
That’s it!!! I wish there was a closer one!!! https://t.co/R3dc9iH4A6

Of course, in the age of faux-outrage, not everyone thought the tumble was worth joking about.
One person tweeted: “So, that’s the type of quality show that you put on … for people that spend their hard earned money to come see you, is for you to show up drunk? That’s some Justin Bieber on Hennessy, throwing up on stage, nonsense right there!”
Shelton fired back: “Oh I’m sorry ma’am... This account is meant for people who actually have a sense of humor.. We’re not accepting cry baby tweets today.. Maybe try again tomorrow!”
