Blue Ivy Bids On Art At Charity Auction

Blue Ivy Carter got an early lesson in art collecting this weekend.

The six-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z did some bidding at the Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night.

Blue Ivy raised her parents’ paddle during the auction of a painting by actor Sidney Poitier. According to Vanity Fair, the youngster bid $17,000 (all figures U.S.) and then $19,000 before Jay-Z playfully confiscated the paddle.

The superstar offspring made the winning bid of $10,000 on a piece of art by Samuel Levi Jones.

According to the report, Beyoncé paid $17,000 for a set of Lorraine Schwartz earrings.

The event, staged by Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, raises funds for the WACO Theatre Center.
