Bohemian Rhapsody has rocked its way to the top of the list of highest-grossing music biopics.
The controversial film about Queen has raked in more than $386 million (all figures U.S.) at the box office worldwide – knocking Straight Outta Compton from the top of the list. The 2015 film about the rise and fall of rap group N.W.A. grossed $202 million.
In third place now is the 2005 Johnny Cash and June Carter biopic Walk The Line, which made $186 million globally.

Bohemian Rhapsody is also on track to become the top-grossing music flick in the U.S. and Canada, where it placed third in its third weekend of release. To date it has made $128 million domestically, putting it at No. 2 behind Straight Outta Compton’s $161 million haul.
Made with the cooperation of Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor, Bohemian Rhapsody has been criticized for fudging the timeline and glossing over certain details about Freddie Mercury’s life.
