Bonnie Raitt announced Monday that she needs to pull out of upcoming tour dates with James Taylor due to a health issue.
“I'm deeply sorry to have to disappoint my fans, James and colleagues with these cancellations,” the 68-year-old musician said in a message shared on social media. “I was so looking forward to our tour.”
According to a statement, doctors determined Raitt after a routine physical that she needed surgery. “The prognosis is good and a full recovery is expected,” it read.
No further details were provided but Raitt said she is “feeling strong” and expects to return to the second leg of the tour in June.
“Thank you all for your concern and understanding that the best gift you could give me is respecting my wish for privacy and giving me space to heal,” she said.
