Brad Paisley will again be co-hosting alongside Carrie Underwood at the 51st annual CMA Awards next week, and is bracing for an emotional night for country music following the devastating Las Vegas shooting that occurred at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Oct. 1.
“There's pressure if you don't handle it right, If you deal with it wrong, there's an enormous amount of pressure" the country singer told Rolling Stone.
Paisley and Underwood reportedly will have the responsibility of honouring those lost during the Vegas tragedy during the ceremony.
"We're not going to ignore it, but we're not going to also dwell on that," he added. "We have to make sure we honour those we've lost, but we also have to celebrate this music, which lives on, and do a good job having the heart we need to have on that night. And also the theme of the show this year is very much about unity and coming together as a format.”
The 51st annual CMA Awards will be broadcast live on Nov. 8 at 8:00pm EST.
