Canadian country star Brett Kissel announced Thursday he will perform a drive-in concert next month in Edmonton.
Brett Kissel – Live at the Drive-In is set to take place June 13 in the parking lot of the River Cree Resort and Casino. In partnership with grocery chain Safeway, all the proceeds from the event will go to Food Banks Alberta.
Fans everywhere will be able to watch a livestream of the one-hour concert. Safeway will match donations, up to $25,000, made during the show.
“Obviously, the last few months have been an incredibly difficult chapter in all of our stories here in Canada and throughout the world,” Kissel noted, in a release. “I want to use live music to bring some light and happiness to people. I want to say thank you to all of those who have been on the front lines during this pandemic and to do what we can to make a difference supporting those in need.
“I want to support everyone through something that I miss – that we all miss, very much – live country music.”
Tickets, priced at $50 per vehicle, go on sale May 25 at 10 am local time through Ticketmaster.
Last week, Keith Urban performed in front of Vanderbilt University Medical Center frontline workers sitting in 120 vehicles at a drive-in theatre in Watertown, Tennessee.
