Country star Brett Young has become the first country singer this year to have a song go platinum.
The 36-year-old's hit "In Case You Didn't Know" has reached 1 million in U.S. sales, according to the RIAA.
The video for the song, off Young's self-titled debut EP, has been viewed almost 50 million times on YouTube.
Young is in good company, joining Ed Sheeran, Future, The Chainsmokers and Katy Perry as the only musicians with 1 million-selling songs in 2017.
Though the California native is fairly new to the country scene, he has amassed an adoring fan base. The song is also nominated for Breakthrough Video of the Year at the upcoming CMT Music Awards.
