The Beach Boys cofounder Brian Wilson has announced a solo anthology titled Playback that will celebrate 30 years of his solo career. The 18-track anthology will include two unreleased songs: “Run James Run” and “Some Sweet Day”.
“Run James Run” was recorded specifically for Playback, while “Some Sweet Day” was a collaboration between Andy Paley and Wilson for an abandoned project in the ’90s.
Apart from the unreleased tracks, the anthology will be comprised of live performances and studio songs spanning his 30-year solo career, from his 1988 self-titled debut to 2004's Gettin' in Over My Head and Brian Wilson Presents Smile. Rolling Stone critic David Wild will pen the liner notes. It will also come with classic photographs.
