TMZ is reporting that Britney Spears is "completely dysfunctional" and in "serious danger" both with her mental health and finances since her conservatorship ended in November 2021.
The site adds that according to sources, the pop star currently has no supervision, is "almost totally isolated," and experiences "radical mood swings" that are described as "shocking."
On Friday (April 26), Britney settled an ongoing dispute over legal fees with her father, Jamie Spears. Although the terms of the settlement are confidential, she is said to be responsible for covering her father’s attorney fees amounting to over $2 million.
In a statement, Britney's attorney Mathew S. Rosengart said, "Although the conservatorship was terminated in November 2021, her wish for freedom is now truly complete. As she desired, her freedom now includes that she will no longer need to attend or be involved with court or entangled with legal proceedings in this matter.”
“Britney Spears won when the court suspended her father, and Britney Spears won when her fundamental rights and civil liberties were restored,” Rosengart added.
Spears posted a now-deleted reaction to her Instagram, expressing her frustration in the settlement, writing, “My family hurt me!!! There has been no justice and probably never will be!!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing!!!”
Despite her freedom, TMZ's source admits "she had lots of freedom in the conservatorship and the restrictions were there to protect her. She's not protected anymore."
The source revealed that Spears is "in real danger of going broke," having spent millions on lavish trips to French Polynesia and Hawaii using a private jet. "She cannot afford this," the source adds. "She had $60 million when the conservatorship ended, and she's now where the conservatorship started -- in danger of going broke."
