Brooks & Dunn will be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Country Music Association announced Monday.
The duo will be added in the Modern Era Artist category at a ceremony later this year in Nashville.
“I’m just a fan of country music,” said Kix Brooks. “The fact that I could just share a little space on that wall, it’s hard to describe how that makes you feel.” Ronnie Dunn said “it hasn’t soaked in to me.”
Also being inducted is comedic singer Ray Stevens, in the Veterans Era Artist category, and record executive Jerry Bradley, in the Non-Performer category.
“These visionaries have transformed the genre in obvious and intangible ways,” said press conference host Bill Cody. “They not only impacted the world of country music, but their work has created art that implores people to laugh, to cry, to ponder the range of emotions in between.”
There are currently 136 members of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
