The world is finally getting to hear the song Bruce Springsteen recorded in 2001 for the first Harry Potter movie.
A five-and-a-half-minute demo version of the ballad surfaced on SoundCloud but was taken down a few hours later.
A number of people managed to grab it and post on YouTube -- but how long it lasts there is anyone's guess.
The Boss revealed in October that he penned “I’ll Stand By You Always” for the soundtrack of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone but the song never made the cut. He called it “very uncharacteristic of something I’d sing.”
Springsteen’s song doesn’t mention the bespectacled boy wizard but contains lyrics like: “Now I know it can feel like you’re slipping away / At night you’ll get lost in that deep dark place / We’ll let the night come and do what it may / Together we’ll find the courage, we’ll find faith / Until you awake.”
Last year, Springsteen told the BBC he’d love to see “I’ll Stand By You Always” make it into the soundtrack of a children’s movie.
